   BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT
1 . Name of project
- Vietnamese : Forestry Development to improve the lives Highlands
 
- English : Forests for livelihood Improvement in The Central Highlands ( FLITCH )
 
2 . Scope of project :
The project was implemented in 60 communes in 22 districts in 6 provinces of Kon Tum , Gia Lai , Dak Lak , Dak Nong , Lam Dong , Phu Yen .
 
3 . Sponsors :
 The Asian Development Bank ( ADB ) , the Trust Fund for Forests industry ( Netherlands , Finland , Sweden and Switzerland ) .
 
4 . The main milestones :
- Approval of feasibility report : 07/6/2006
 
- Approval of the feasibility study report : 16/04/2007
 
- Credit Agreement signing date ADB ( 2269 - ENG ) : 7/12/2006 , in effect : 8/6/2007
 
- Just signed this Agreement grants TFF ( Grant 060 ) : 06/6/2007 (effective ) .
 
- On completion of the project according to investment decisions : 31/12/2014
 
5 . The goal of the project :
- Reduce the rate of household poverty , narrow the income gap of the poor than the average household in the province 's forest-based livelihoods to 6 project provinces , with special attention to public ethnic minorities .
 
- Strengthening of management and use of forests and forest land in the project area , in particular capacity management and production skills for community forestry and household .
 
- Sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation with community participation , public entities and private .
 
- Development of planting high-yield production , protection forests , special-use forests and other silvicultural activities in order to increase wood supply , forest products , increase people's income , contributing to the protection environment and biodiversity conservation .
 
- To address the essential needs of infrastructure to economic development , the social projects such as roads , water , health clinics , schools , irrigation works and the cultural community .
 
- To contribute to improving the livelihoods of forest-dependent people in 60 communes of six selected project provinces .
 
6 . Project implementation period : 6/2007 - 31/12/2014
7 . Project Content : includes 4 components :
Component 1 : Develop and manage forest resources sustainably
Component 2 : Improving livelihoods
Component 3 : Capacity Building
Component 4 : Project Management
