GLX The International Cooperation Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), along with relevant units organized a meeting to introduce the Biodiversity Conservation and Landscape Project, valued at 5.5 million USD.

The Biodiversity Landscape Fund (BLF) is a program sponsored by the United Kingdom aimed at delivering results in poverty reduction, biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and adaptation in six regions worldwide. The project's goal is to reduce poverty, address the causes of environmental degradation, and support the central and local governments, Forest Management Boards, and communities in implementing sustainable management and long-term use of natural resources. This aims to foster sustainable economic development for communities living within and dependent on precious environmental landscapes, restore landscapes through sustainable management activities, enhance the quality of ecosystems, and protect biodiversity. Previously, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation with the Biodiversity Landscape Fund (BLF) was signed on April 11-12, 2023, between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs of the United Kingdom (DEFRA). Specifically, the project's implementing agencies in Vietnam include the People's Committees of Nghệ An and Kon Tum provinces; subcontractors include the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN Vietnam). The project will be implemented over a period of 7 years, from 2024 to 2030 (including the project's settlement period in accordance with Vietnam's regulations). The project will be carried out at Pu Mat National Park and the Forest Management Board of Anh Son (Nghệ An) as well as Chu Mom Ray National Park, Ngoc Linh Conservation Area, and the Forest Management Board of Tu Mo Rong (Kon Tum). The total project funding is 5.5 million USD, sourced from non-repayable Official Development Assistance (ODA).
