USAID cooperates with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to assist Vietnam Customs and Port authorities using technology to combat illegal wildlife trade
GLX Da Nang, February 14, 2023 - The Saving Threaten Wildlife Project, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by WWF, spoke with relevant agencies on tools and technologies to combat illegal wildlife trade, by improving the ability to detect and prevent this type of crime at seaports. The workshop with theme on "Strengthening control, detection, investigation and handling of illegal wildlife trade through seaports" was jointly organized by the Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP-Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development). Representatives from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the US Department of State, USAID, customs, port authorities of Ho Chi Minh city, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Quy Nhon and TRAFFIC attended this activity.
