On 5th October, the Forum "Promoting gender equality for sustainable forestry development" was held in Quy Nhon city (Binh Dinh province) with the participation of 140 delegates who are leaders, policy makers, experts, technical staff and representatives of relevant parties.
On the evening of September 29, the VFBC Project Management Unit of Quang Nam province coordinated with the Provincial Forest Protection Department and Quang Nam University to organize a seminar "Students and wildlife conservation".
The training workshop was organized with the desire to inspire and enthusiasticize journalists and reporters in participating in the fight against illegal wildlife trade.
In an effort to reduce the demand for illegal wildlife products in Vietnam, the Saving Threatened Wildlife Project (STW) recently introduced a set of creative messages and images towards changing consumer behavior.
The Department of Forestry (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) has a policy of coordinating with units to develop communication and promotion programs for national parks. It is possible to develop a model of "forest passport", each visitor to the national park is marked in it as a journey to discover nature.
The FMCR project is designed for 6 years, but for many reasons, it only has 2 years left to implement, so great efforts are needed.
Not only does it help green wetland areas and improve the ecosystem, the coastal afforestation project in Quang Ninh also brings many benefits to local people.
After 3 years of implementation, all communities participated in afforestation activities of the FMCR project in Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh) have stable income and somewhat higher than before
During the two days of 21 - 22 September 2023, in Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang province), more than 60 managers and domestic and international experts on tiger conservation participated in the technical consultation workshop on management plan for tiger breeding facilities in Vietnam.
From the end of 2019 to the end of 2023, the Management Board for Forestry Projects has implemented the Forest Sector Modernization and Coastal Resilience Enhancement Project (FMCR) in 8 provinces: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An. An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue. Until now, the project has planted and restored nearly 4,000 hectares of forest, built many traffic works, dykes and embankments, helping local people improve their livelihoods and stabilize their lives.
Within the framework of implementing project activities in 2023, from August 25 - 29, 2023, in Vinh Yen commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province, SNRM2 Project coordinated with experts and coordinator of the Japan International Forestry Promotion and Cooperation Center (JIFPRO) to organize a training course on "Production of organic fertilizer from cinnamon residue after essential oil extraction" for people in the district.
Within the framework of implementing the 2023 plan of the Project on Enhancing Sustainable Natural Resource Management (SNRM2), in order to improve knowledge and skills in operating the Forest Resources Monitoring System (FRMS 4.0), the SNRM2 project and Forest Protection Department of Son La and Hoa Binh provinces have to hold the FMRS training class in August 2023.
Within the framework of the Viet Rural Marathon - Nghe An 2023: “Go to Vi Giam region with Faith”, the Saving Threatened Wildlife Project sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has coordinated with Nghe An Forest Protection Department organizing propaganda and awareness raising activities about wildlife protection.

On the afternoon of 14th August 2023, the Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP) held a announcement ceremony of the Decision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on appointing Mr. Do Quang Tung - Acting Director of the MBFP to the position of Director of the MBFP for a period of 5 years , from 11 August 2023. Attending the ceremony were Mr Nguyen Quoc Tri - Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Nguyen Song Thao - Deputy Director of Organization and Personnel Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and all officers and employees of the Management Board of Forestry Projects.
Within the framework of implementing the project operation plan for 2023 of Project on Enhancing Sustainable Natural Resource Management (SNRM2) in July and August, the SNRM2 Project has supported Phu Yen Forestry Company - Son La province developing forest plantation plan, preparation of planting site and planting 8,800 seedlings (equivalent to 4 ha). At the end of 2022 and April 2023, the SNRM2 project also supported 90,000 Acacia seedlings (equivalent to 54ha) for Tan Trao Special-use Forest Management Board, Tuyen Quang province and 24,000 Acacia seedlings (equivalent to 12ha) for a group of forest owners in Hoa Binh province.
Hanoi, 28th July 2023 – Within the framework of the Project on Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation (VFBC) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Biodiversity Conservation Component implemented by WWF-Vietnam has completed a comprehensive institutional assessment to build management capacity for special-use forests (SUF) and protection forests in the project area.
On the morning of 20th June 2022, at the Management Board for Forestry Project (MBFP), JICA mission had a meeting with the Management Board for Forestry Projects on several issues of the Sustainable natural resource management project (SNRM2 Project), and discuss the development and preparation of new projects.
On 13 July 2023, in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, the Upscaling of Sustainable Forest Management and Certification in Vietnam (SFM) in collaboration with GIZ Office held a semi-annual meeting and implementaion of the plan for the 6 months of 2023. Mr. Pham Hong Vich - Deputy Head of the Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP) - Director of the Central SFM Project, together with Ms. Anja Barth - Project Chief Advisor, co-chaired the meeting. Participating in the meeting were representatives of the Central SFM Project Management Unit, GIZ Office, Provincial Project Management Unit and 06 forest owners involved in the project.
Within the framework of implementation of the 2023 plan of the Sustainable natural resource management project (SNRM2 Project), in order to improve knowledge and skills to operate the Forest Resource Monitoring System (FRMS 4.0) ), SNRM2 Project and Lao Cai Provincial Forest Protection Department coordinated and chaired the FMRS training course in Lao Cai province from July 4, 2023 to the end of July 8, 2023. In addition, the delegation of SNRM2 Project also coordinated to visit the cinnamon plantation, cinnamon essential oil press factory, cinnamon tree nursery in Vinh Yen commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province.

Through the introduction of Dr. Lee JeongHo - Chief Technical Advisor of the Mangrove Restoration and Sustainable Management Project (KFS), the Forestry Business Association of Jeonnam Province, Korea had a meeting with the Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP) and visited mangrove forest of KFS project in Xuan Thuy National Park, Nam Dinh province from 26-27th June 2023.
On 23th June 2023, the Saving Threatened Wildlife Project (STW) held a workshop on "Raising awareness on combating illegal wildlife trade for officials and employees of the Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP)" in Dong Hoi City - Quang Binh. Attending the workshop were representatives of MBFP’s leaders, leaders of functional and professional departments, projects under the MBFP and a large number of officials and employees of the MBFP.
