GLX The FMCR project is designed for 6 years, but for many reasons, it only has 2 years left to implement, so great efforts are needed.

Learned lessons According to Mr. Pham Hong Vich, through the process of implementing FMCR project, the first lesson learned is the need to speed up the progress of approving and allocating capital for projects: "Avoid waiting for fund, Like this project, we need 2 years to be allocated capital for implementation" The next lesson is that issues related to local planning require avoiding overlap. For example, land area planned for the FMCR project in many localities is overlaped with the socio-economic development planning. To avoid this situation, local authorities need to develop a stable, long-term planning to make the implementation of new projects more convenient. The third lesson is to recognize and replicate the model of including local communities into the project implementation process. When following this plan, it will not only improve people's lives and their livelihoods, but also reduce their dependence on forests and help people protecting forests in a sustainable way. In particular, when community interests are attached to the project, people will participate directly, make practical contributions, and closely monitor. Thereby, the project's achievements will be well protected. |
