Support the community to develop sustainable forest management plan
GLX On March 30, in Quang Tri, during the 3rd meeting, the Community Forestry Network held discussions and suggestions to amend the Circular 28/2018/TT-BNNPTNT, focusing on criteria for sustainable forest management, sustainable forest management planning applied to households, individuals, communities and groups of households.

In order to contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing carbon sequestration from forests in Vietnam through efforts to reduce deforestation and degradation of natural forests, and more effectively manage production forests, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has funded and implemented the Sustainable Forest Management Component under the Project on Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation in Vietnam (VFBC) in 7 provinces, namely Lao Cai, Son La, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri and Quang Nam in the period from 2020 to 2025. |
In 2022, the Sustainable Forest Management Component, the Project on Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation in Vietnam (VFBC) funded by USAID established the Community Forestry Network (CFN) with more than 100 members from government agencies, NGOs, research institutes, universities, state forest owners, conservation and community-friendly businesses. The objective of the CFN is to promote connection, sharing, dialogue and communication on policies, models and experiences in community forest land allocation, community forest management guidelines to improve and expanding community forestry nationwide. |
