In a series of events to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day, with the consent of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the Vietnam Forestry University (VFU) organized a Workshop on " Orientation of science, technology development orientation and forestry innovation in the period of 2022-2030" on 16 May 2022.
On 13 May 2022, at Xuan Thuy National Park - Nam Dinh province, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) held the lauching ceremony of the Mangrove Restoration and Sustainable Management Project in the Red River Delta funded by Korean Government through the Korea Forest Service (hereinafter referred to the KFS Project). The project is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea. Attending delegates included Mr. Le Quoc Doanh - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, leaders of People's Committees, representatives of departments, sectors and communities in the project area in 02 provinces of Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh, representatives of central ministries, donors and relevant agencies.
On the afternoon of May 16, in Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province, the Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP) held an international consultation kick-off conference of the Integrated Coastal Protection and Mangrove Belt Rehabilitation Project for Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces (KG-CM). Acting Director of the MBFP – Mr. Do Quang Tung and Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee – Mr. Le Quoc Anh co-chaired the conference.
From 4-7th May 2022, the mision of the Management Board for Forestry Projects - SNRM2 Project worked with the lao Cai Provincial Project Management, Lao Cai DGEF Project Working Group to check the implementation of project activities in the locality, agree on the 2022 work plan.
The Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Vietnam has handed over nearly 100 camera traps and accompanying equipment to the Management Board of Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park (Lam Dong).
From 18-28th April 18, 2022, the mision of the Management Board for Forestry Projects - SNRM2 Project worked with the SNRM2 Project Management Unit at Son La, Hoa Binh and Tuyen Quang provinces to check the implementation of project activities in the localities and agree on the 2022 work plan.
With the theme "Improving Vietnamese agricultural products - Enhancing Vietnamese values - Enhancing Vietnamese souls", the art competition for cutting, pruning, and arranging tubers and fruits was organized by the MARD's Trade Union and Youth Union on the morning of April 26, 2022 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development - No. 2 Ngoc Ha, Hanoi. The competition had the participation of more than 28 teams Trade representing Trade Union and Youth Union of the MARD’s units. This is an activity of the MARD's Trade Union to implement Action Plan No. 03- CTr/BCĐ dated April 1, 2022 of the MARD’s Party Personnel Committee in response to the Campaign "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese products” in the new situation.

On 14&15th April 2022, the Sustainable Forest Management Component - VFBC Project signed a cooperation agreement with Thanh Chuong 1 Timber Production and Trading Joint Stock Company (Thanh Chuong BV), Thanh Chuong 2 Timber Production and Trading Joint Stock Company (TC WOOD 2) in Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province and Hoa Binh Energy Development and Investment Joint Stock Company (BVN Hoa Binh) in Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province of the BVN Joint Stock Company.
On 15th April 2022, the Party Affairs Committee in collaboration with the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) held a conference to thoroughly understand the Action Program of the MARD's Party Affairs Committee in response to the campaign "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” and the strategy of sustainable agricultural and rural development for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 to all officials, party members, and employees in the agencies/units belonged to MARD in order to promote the roles and responsibilities of party committees and authorities at all levels in leading, directing the implementation of campaign "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods" and effective excution of Industry Development Strategy.
On 7th April 2022, the Project on Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation in Vietnam (VFBC) - Biodiversity Conservation Component (VFBC) collaborated with Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park (VFBC Lam Dong) to organize a consultation workshop on "Conservation and development of eco-tourism in Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park" in Lam Dong province.
Within the cooperation between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Japan on forestry, the Sustainable natural resource management (SNRM) project is funded by the Government of Japan and implemented in Hoa Binh, Son La, Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai provinces. On 4th March 2022, with the agreement of the leaders of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Project Steering Committee Conference was held in Hanoi.
The Project on Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation in Vietnam (VFBC) – Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP) calls for action of “Restoring wild flora and fauna to rehabilitate the ecosystems.”
On the afternoon of 2nd March, at the headquarters of the Management Board for Forestry Projects, a ceremony was held to announce and award the Decision of MBFP’s Director on re-appointment of the Head of Finance and Accounting Department for Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nam. Attending the announcement ceremony were representatives of the Party Committee, MBFP’s leaders, Head and Deputy heads of professional departments and leaders of projects under the MBFP.
On 28th February 2022, at the Center for Women and Development - No. 20 Thuy Khue, Hanoi, the Sustainable natural resource management (SNRM2) project held a consultation workshop on "Assessment of implementation and application of policies on forest management, protection and development and implementation of forestry ODA projects by Forest Rangers and specialized forces on Forest protection”.
(VAN)- With a budget of over 11 million EUR, the Protection and Integrated Management of ecosystems project has supported ethnic minorities in Vietnam's three provinces.
From the point of view that sustainable coastal ecosystem protection can only be done under the consensus, support and active participation of rural people who are living adjacently to the rehabilitated forests and being the first and direct beneficiaries of coastal ecosystems, those are considered as custodians of ecosystems. The project on adaptation to climate change through biodiversity promotion in Bac Lieu province has been focusing on further mobilizing people to protect the environment toward adaptation to climate change.
Having an area of more than 1.1 million ha, Kien Giang Biosphere Reserve (BR) is the 2nd largest of the eight Vietnam BRs that recognized by UNESCO as the World Biosphere Reserve. Kien Giang BR contains a rich, diverse and unique landscape and ecosystems. This is the fifth Vietnam Biosphere Reserve recognized by UNESCO. Kien Giang BR covers the territory of Phu Quoc, An Minh, Vinh Thuan, Kien Luong and Kien Hai districts. Kien Giang BR has three core areas of the U Minh Thuong National Park, Phu Quoc National Park and Kien Luong - Kien Hai Coastal Protection Forest.
In December 9th, in Hanoi, Le Quoc Doanh - Vice Minister on behalf of MARD has awarded a medal “For the Cause of Agriculture and Rural Development” to Mr. Mori Mutsuya, Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam Office (former Chief of JBIC Vietnam Office, Vice Director of Southeast Asia - International Cooperation Agency Tokyo, Japan).
Climate change is taking place regularly and continuously and causing negative impacts on socio-economic life of people in coastal provinces. With specific objectives and tasks enhancing the sense of initiative in adapting to climate change, project on " coastal forest protection and development responding to climate change in the period of 2014 - 2020" has crucial significance for coastal localities.
This was assessed by the Director of MBFP – the National Director of FLITCH project – Mr.Vu Xuan Thon at the meeting aiming to review the project progress in 2013 and develop the work plan for 2014 held in Ha Noi for 3 days from 10th to 12th January 2014.
After forest review and inventory according to new criteria, 13.8 million ha of forest must be uncompromisingly protected and sustainably developed through appropriate models and resources.
From January 3rd to 5th, 2014, the Project “Forest restoration and sustainable management in Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen – KfW6” held the 16th Review Meeting in Da Nang.
This was stated by the Director of Management Board of Forestry Projects (MBFP) – Mr. Vu Xuan Thon at the training course of enhancing financing and accounting skills held by MBFP in Hai Phong in December 2014.
