Photojournalism: Attracting investment, enhancing cooperation between Vietnam and Korea in the field of forestry
Through the introduction of Dr. Lee JeongHo - Chief Technical Advisor of the Mangrove Restoration and Sustainable Management Project (KFS), the Forestry Business Association of Jeonnam Province, Korea had a meeting with the Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP) and visited mangrove forest of KFS project in Xuan Thuy National Park, Nam Dinh province from 26-27th June 2023.
On 23th June 2023, the Saving Threatened Wildlife Project (STW) held a workshop on "Raising awareness on combating illegal wildlife trade for officials and employees of the Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP)" in Dong Hoi City - Quang Binh. Attending the workshop were representatives of MBFP’s leaders, leaders of functional and professional departments, projects under the MBFP and a large number of officials and employees of the MBFP.
On the morning of 23th June 2023 in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, the Project on Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation in Vietnam (VFBC) under the Management Board for Forestry Projects was held the workshop to share results and experiences in project implementation funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and managed by the Management Board for Forestry Projects.
In 2 days (22 – 23th June) in Quang Binh, within the framework of Saving Threatened Wildlife Project sponsored by USAID, WWF, Department of International Cooperation and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminals - Supreme People's Procuracy and Management Board for Forestry Projects - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development jointly organized the Workshop on "Strengthening international cooperation in prevention and control of wildlife trade ".
On 22th June 2023, the Management Board for Forestry Project had a meeting with Mr. Nam Sunghyun, Minister of the Korean Forest Service (KFS)
On 20-21th June 2023, representatives of the JIFPRO sponsor and UPR company (the sponsor of JIFPRO project in Thua Thien Hue province) visited the forest plantation site and organized planting in the project area in Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province.
This morning (June 13, in Hanoi, the Saving Threatened Wildlife Project sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper held a workshop on Strengthening the participation of reporters and journalists in preventing illegal wildlife trade.
On 12th June in Da Nang, the Project on Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation in Vietnam financed by the United States Agency for International Development organized a training on communication skills for forest protection officials and members in 7 provinces: Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Son La, Lao Cai and Hoa Binh.
From 6th – 8th June 2022, the Central Management Unit and Consulting Office of the SNRM2 Project organized a mission to work with the SNRM2 Project Management Unit in Lao Cai province and Vinh Yen Cooperative, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province.
From 1st - 3rd June 2023, forest owners participating in the Upscaling of Sustainable Forest Management and Certification in Vietnam (SFM project) in 03 provinces of Quang Tri, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen had a study tour on the model of forestry production and large timber plantation in Thua Thien Hue and Quang Tri provinces.
From 29th – 31st May 2023 in Thua Thien Hue province, the Upscaling of Sustainable Forest Management and Certification in Vietnam (SFM) in collaboration with GIZ conducted a training course on “Strengthening capacity for sustainable forest management and forest certification (FSC)” for forest owners participating in the project.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Tri suggested that the "middle and long-term cooperation vision" should focus on further promoting the potential and comparative advantages of the two sides.
On 6th June 2023 in Quang Ninh, the Enterprise Development Institute/Vietnam Federation of Trade and Industry (EDF/VCCI) cooperated with the Department of Tourism of Quang Ninh province to organize a consultation workshop with the tourism industry for addressing the illegal wildlife trade and promoting the model of "Cities say NO to illegal wildlife products".
From 30th May 2023 to the end of 1st June 2023, the Central Management Unit and Consulting Office of SNRM2 Project organized a mission to work with the SNRM2 Project Management Unit in Son La province and Phu Yen Forestry Company (Forest Owner) in Phu Yen District, Son La Province.
On 12 May 2023, forest owners belonging to the group of forest owners in Hoa Binh, funded by the Project on Enhancing Sustainable Natural Resource Management (SNRM2) had a study tour on sustainable forest certification in Tuyen Quang province.
On the morning of May 24, in Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak province), the Endangered Wildlife Project sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Vietnam Federation of Trade and Industry – The branch in Ho Chi Minh City (VCCI-HCM), the Forest Protection Department and the Business Association of Dak Lak province cooperated to organize a Seminar on Business community accompanying the prevention and control of illegal wildlife trade
This morning (May 18), at Cuc Phuong National Park (Ninh Binh), the Saving Threaten Wildlife Project, sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in collaboration with the Vietnam Banks Association organized a training workshop on capacity building and reducing money laundering risks from illegal wildlife trade.
Deploying the Cooperation Agreement for implementation of the Saving Threaten Wildlife Project, the Vietnam Federation of Trade and Industry – Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCM) will coordinate with the Forest Protection Department and Dak Lak Provincial Business Association to organize the program “Business companion for Wildlife Conservation” with many practical activities.
On 25th April 2023, in Quang Ninh, the National Assembly's Committee for Science, Technology and Environment in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held a "Workshop to evaluate the implementation of recommendations for monitoring by agencies of the National Assembly on the implementation of policies and laws to carry out CITES.” This activity is part of the Saving Threaten Wildlife Project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is jointly implemented by the Management Board for Forestry Projects of MARD and WWF.
On the occasion of Earth Day (April 22), on the morning of April 21, the Sustainable Forest Management Component of the Project on Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation in Vietnam (VFBC) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Tri province to organize a workshop "Reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the management of organic materials after harvesting plantations" with the participation of more than 80 participants who are managers, policy makers, scientists, businesses and small-scale forest owners.
On the morning of 17 April 2023, Department of Management Consulting and Project Development – the Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP) in collaboration with the Saving Threaten Wildlife Project (STW) held a workshop to share project information. Attending the workshop were leaders, officials from functional and professional departments and projects under the MBFP.

This morning (April 6), in Ho Chi Minh City, the Saving Threaten Wildlife Project (STW) in collaboration with the Vietnam Federation of Trade and Industry - Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCM) held the Import and Export Forum 2023 - Social Responsibility of enterprises in implementation of New Generation Free Trade Agreements.
